So I've been busy the past few weeks. I had my major contest for the year, as did the other group. This year we had early performance times - my group had to be at school at 6:20 am for warm up before we got on the bus. The other group had to be at school at 5:20am for warm up. Both times, we had storms in the middle of the night. On Wednesday, I got up at 4:00am so I could be at school by 6am. It rained, but nothing horrible. On Friday, I got up at 3am so I could be at school by 4:30am. Just as I was getting up, it started hailing outside. It was only quarter size hail, but it was coming from the southwest. Syd's bedroom is in that corner of the house and it was really loud. She started screaming and we had to bring her into our bed. Of course her screaming woke up Shelby and she came to crawl into our bed too. I was trying to get dressed and Sean was watching the tv to check on the storms while we were trying to get the girls to go ba ck to sleep. I left the house about 4:15, Shelby had gone back to her bed (to get away from her sister and go back to sleep) and Syd was laying on my pillow. Sean later reported that she fell asleep about 4:45 and the alarm went off at 5:15. Everyone was in bed early that night. :)
Both of the groups did very well and we were proud of their performances.
This past week Sean had a business trip to Boston (Wed. - Fri). Sydney had been acting really fussy/whiney/etc so I took her to the doctor Wed afternoon. She's got an ear infrection in both ears. She didn't ever run a fever (that we're aware of) and didn't have stuff in her eyes like normal. She just had a runny nose for a few days before - just like the rest of us. The weather is getting warmer and the pollen levels are going up. Only one way to describe it - Spring Time!
Hopefully a constant dose of allergy medicine will keep us all feeling fine. If not we've only got about 1.5 months before the pollen levels will change again. :)
