Three day weekend

This weekend we got an extra day off. Technically it was "fair day" for our district, but Sean got the day off too. Saturday was dance class for Syd and then we brought a friend home with us. Her parents were taking care of some business and the grandparents were out of town. So, she had her first playdate/overnight non-relative experience at the age of 2.5 with our crazy household. Only snag was nap time. She wanted to sleep and Syd didn't. I stayed in the room until I thought both girls were asleep, but Syd wasn't completely asleep. She started of with a whisper voice and eventually made it to "loud" before waking up our guest. Our guest's comment to Shelby was " I don't like sleeping with Sydney. She's loud." I totally don't blame her. I don't like taking a nap with Syd either!
Sunday after pick up, we packed the kids up and headed for the state fair. The kids got to pet animals at the barn petting zoo. Sydn really wanted a baby goat (can you blame her - they are really cute) but didn't throw much of a fit when I told her they had to stay at the fair. We saw dancing with the dogs and pig races. We went through the kids little hands on the farm exhibit, where the kids get the chance to act like they are working on a farm. Picking wooden eggs and peaches and "feeding" corn to the stuffed pigs and chickens. I got some pictures that I'll post later in the week. I got a turkey leg (deep fried) and ended up sharing it with the rest of the family. The girls and I tried the fried smores and liked them. Think funnel cake batter over a smore and then deep fried with powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Good, but they only give you one for the price. I should have gotten the deep fried moon pie, but wasn't sure if anyone else would want some.
Today was a lay around the house day for the most part. Everyone went to my Dr. appointment today and we got to see the baby on the "big screen". Everything looks good. He looks like he's grown quite a bit. We could see his ribs and spine and that his arm was up in front of his face. He did a little wave and then we could make out his eyes and nose. I'm going to guess that he looks just like the girls did as babies. 4 more weeks until my next appointment.
After nap time, we did a little bit of baby shopping. The carter's store was having a big sale this weekend and I had a $10 off coupon to go with it. We picked out several pjs and little outfits and Sydney picked out some socks and pjs for him. Everything was on sale or on the clearance rack. Since this isn't an outlet store, I picked up a couple of things that I had seen at Kohl's but was waiting for a sale to get them. Gotta love that!
So now I must head for bed. This week is busy with regular late days, a practice party and a Thursday football game. Good thing it's a short week. :)

Glad you all are well! Things here are busy but good. Take care and give the girls a hug for me!
