The Pumpkin Patch

Every year we take the girls to a local pumpkin patch to pick out their pumpkins. They have bounce houses and hayrides for everyone to enjoy as well as lots of pumpkins to choose from. We went on Sunday and it was a beautiful day. The temperature was mid 70s and it was perfect for being outside. Of course, everyone else thought so too - the place was packed. In fact, the workers were putting out more pumpkins while we were there, because of the number of people that were there.
The girls got to ride in a wagon and go pick out the perfect pumpkin. After they both picked out their pumpkin, I managed to get this shot of them in the pumpkins.

They had a lot of fun and there were lots of tears when it was time to go home. However, the reminder that we were going to carve the pumpkins was enough to stop Shelby's tears. (Read: Mom and Dad were going to carve the pumpkin. Shelby will not stick her hand in the pumpkin to "clean" it out. )
It has a been a process of the past couple of days, but here is a photo of our finished pumpkins.

It wouldn't be halloween without our princess pumpkins. Shelby wanted Jasmine and thought Sydney would like the Tinker Bell one. Sydney was asleep by the time we finished hers, so she'll get to see it tomorrow. Next year I'm going to give myself enough time to do one for me.
